Proceedings of April 7

After the original charges were dismissed without prejudice, Leonardo Juarez, 53, an inmate of Green Bay Correctional Institution, was charged again with second-degree sexual assault, child enticement for sexual purposes, false imprisonment, and exposing himself to a child, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 31, 2018. Further proceedings were not yet scheduled.

Proceedings of April 6

John R. Hartley, 40, Oconto, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that occurred March 9, 2021. The battery count was reduced from a felony charge, and a jury trial was canceled. Judge Michael T. Judge sentenced Hartley to 10 days in the Oconto County Jail, starting no later than April 21, and placed him on two years probation. He also imposed and stayed a one-year term in the county jail.

Dylan Richard Garrigan, 24, Lena, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of second-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault, two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, and misdemeanor sexual intercourse with a child 16 or older, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 14. Arraignment was scheduled for April 22.

Proceedings of April 5

Taylor R. Peterson, 29, Wabeno, was placed on three years probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for possession of narcotic drugs and a misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), in connection with an incident that occurred March 22, 2021. Judge ruled that during probation Peterson must maintain absolute sobriety and complete all assessments, counseling and treatment deemed necessary by his probation agent. He must also spend 60 days in the Oconto County Jail consecutive to any other sentence.

Allan C. Evans, 34, Abrams, was placed on three years probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 31, 2021. Judge ruled that Evans must maintain absolute sobriety and complete an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment, his driver’s license is suspended and he must install an ignition interlock device in his vehicles for 36 months.

Brenda Sue Miller, 29, Oconto, was placed on three years probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for substantial battery, in connection with an incident that occurred March 30, 2021. Judge ordered Miller to maintain absolute sobriety during her probation and gave her credit for 142 days served in the Oconto County Jail.

Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Aaron Dean Strucel, 22, Slinger, after he was charged with attempting to flee or elude an officer, in connection with a high-speed chase on U.S. Highway 41 between Brown County and Peshtigo on April 4. His initial appearance was adjourned until May 19.

Proceedings of April 4

Final preparations were made for the April 19-21 trial of David J. SanRoman, 46, Oconto, on four counts of first-degree child sexual assault and one count of second-degree child sexual assault, all counts charged as a persistent repeater, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred from 2016 to 2020. A panel of 13 jurors, including one alternate, will be chosen, with prosecutors and defence attorneys each allowed five strikes.

Ethan Curtis Wykle, 18, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 1. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 19.

Bond was set at $10,000 cash for Michael L. Christensen, 20, Suring, after he was charged with repeated sexual assault of the same child, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, child enticement, and exposing genitals, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred between June and September 2021. His initial appearance was adjourned until May 19.

Bond was set at $2,500 cash for Daniel R. Williams, 29, Keshena, after he was charged with felony bail jumping, criminal damage to property, and possession of burglarious tools, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 2. His initial appearance was adjourned until May 19.
