Proceedings of April 21

• Jason C. Smith, 37, White Lake, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of receiving or concealing stolen property, in connection with an incident that occurred June 26, 2021, and was sentenced to nine months in the Oconto County Jail. The charge was amended from a felony in a plea agreement. In a separate case, Smith withdrew his demand for a speedy trial and a May 31 jury trial was postponed on charges of possession of narcotic drugs, bail jumping, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property and attempted theft, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 4. A status conference was scheduled for May 25.

• Phleecee K. Young, 22, Oconto, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of felony bail jumping, two misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 18. She is still awaiting trial on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of battery, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 16, 2021. A status conference was scheduled for May 25.

• Bond for Andre Nathaniel Jackson, 33, Green Bay, was lowered from $10,000 to $5,000 cash on a defense motion. Jackson is charged with strangulation and suffocation, taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and misdemeanor counts of intentionally mistreating animals and disorderly conduct, along with two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred May 17-18, 2022. Conditions of bail remain unchanged. A status conference was scheduled for May 25.

• Heidi Barbara Dorow, 39, Lena, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to second-degree reckless endangerment, misdemeanor victim intimidation and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 13, 2022. Judge Jay N. Conley ordered a $10,000 signature bond and scheduled a plea and sentencing hearing for May 26.

• After a preliminary hearing, Edward Alexander Lewis, 50, Oconto Falls, was bound over for trial on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, bail jumping, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 7. Arraignment was scheduled for May 17.

Proceedings of April 20

• At the request of the defense, a jury trial scheduled for May 2-4 for David SanRoman, 47, Oconto, was postponed until Aug. 14-16. SanRoman is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13, two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 12 and one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child, all charging him as a persistent repeater, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred from 2016 to 2020. He also faces two felony bail jumping charges in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred Jan. 17, 2020, and Aug. 24, 2020. Defense attorney Richard Lance Jones Sr. asked for 60 more days to prepare for trial. Judge Michael T. Judge rescheduled the final pre-trial conference to July 20.

Proceedings of April 19

• Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Joaquin Julian Alba, 28, Gillett, after he was charged with intimating a victim by threatening force, strangulation and suffocation, false imprisonment, and misdemeanor counts of battery, endangering safety by the use of a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 17. His initial appearance was adjourned until May 25.

Proceedings of April 17

• Michael C. Noffke, 31, Gillett, was committed to 16 years in the care of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. On March 15, Conley had ruled Noffke not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect after pleading no contest to two counts of aggravated battery, in connection with the stabbing injuries to two men at a home in Gillett on Dec. 16, 2021. Conley gave Noffke credit for time served in custody since his arrest.

• Daniel R. Williams, 30, Keshena, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for felony bail jumping and criminal damage to property, in connection with an incident that occurred April 2, 2022. Among other conditions of extended supervision, Judge ordered Williams to maintain absolute sobriety and complete all assessments, counseling and treatment deemed necessary by his corrections agent.

• Jacob B. School, 37, Oconto Falls, was placed on two years of probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for intimidating the victim of a domestic abuse crime, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 9. Judge ruled that the probation term begins with 180 days in the Oconto County Jail but gave him credit for 160 days already served. Among other probation conditions, School may have no contact with three individuals without Department of Corrections permission.

• Kayla H. Chevalier, 37, Oconto, was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for burglary, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 17, as well as misappropriating identity information to obtain money, in connection with an incident that occurred Oct. 23. Judge ruled that Chevalier is eligible for the Substance Abuse Program, which can lead to early release upon successful completion. Among other conditions of extended supervision, Chevalier may have no possession or consumption of alcohol or any controlled substance without a valid prescription and must comply with any assessments, counseling, treatment and any resulting recommendations made by the Department of Corrections, including a psychological evaluation.

• Walter J. Kuranda Jr., 53, Oconto Falls, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor ignition interlock device violation, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 20. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 25.

• Bond was set at $2,500 cash for Brandon Sean Ertel, 29, Oconto, after he was charged with strangulation and suffocation and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 16. His initial appearance was adjourned until May 25.

• Bond was set at $2,500 cash for Samantha Jane Holderman, 44, Manitowoc, after she was charged with felony bail jumping and misdemeanor charges of battery, theft, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 14. Her initial appearance was adjourned until May 25.
