Noack leads Suring girls at cross-country invite

Bonduel teams both in top 10

Suring High School's Olivia Noack posted a time of 21 minutes, 23.65 seconds to lead the girls cross-country team at the T-Bird Invitational on Aug. 31 in Iola.

The Suring girls ended up placing eighth at the invite with a score of 230. The Bonduel girls were seventh with a mark of 166, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood took 10th with a score of 283. Marion and Menominee Indian had individual girls runners in action.

On the boys side, Cooper Uelmen placed 14th in 18:39.24 to lead the Bonduel boys to an eighth-place finish with a score of 234. The Witt-Birn boys came in 11th with a score of 250, while Menominee Indian (285) were 13th. Gresham/Bowler and Marion also had individual boys runners competing.

Chantelle VandenElzen was the second Suring girl to cross the finish line, posting a time of 26:09.19 to take 62nd. Georgia Gerndt (26:55.66), Hailey Thomson (28:04.01) and Samantha Seibert (31:31.62) filled out the team, placing 74th, 83rd and 104th, respectively.

Ben O'Brien placed 34th in 19:40.41 for the Bonduel boys, while Ayden Dunst took 52nd in 20:29.86. Race Anvelink (21:34.24) placed 67th and Ben Reisner (24:57.87) was 121st to cap the team's top-five runners.

Ashlyn Kurey (22:48.35) was the top finishing girl for Bonduel, placing 22nd. Teagan Engel (23:22.72) was 28th, while Kendra Troxel (23:50.07) came in 33rd. Joselyn Bohm (25:33.88) and Kaitlin Brooks (26:03.87) capped the team's top-five runners, finishing 53rd and 61st, respectively.

Ruby Nowinsky placed 34th in 23:54.25 to lead the Witt-Birn girls on the course. Annika Resch (28:17.33), Ava Hegewald (29:46.44), Ava Wepner (31:06.64) and Amelia Bessert (35:13.35) filled out the team, taking 85th, 92nd, 103rd and 112th, respectively.

Simon Schairer took 19th in 18:58.39 to lead the Chargers' boys runners. Craig Wendel (19:44.5) was 37th, while Mason Meverden (20:40.18) claimed 54th. Hayden Miller (22:16.05) and Pierson Potrykus (24:00.17) were the fourth and fifth finishers on the team, placing 85th and 107th, respectively.

Isaiah Moss (19:11.2) took 25th and Lloyd Reevis (20:06.69) was 41st to lead the Menominee Indian boys. Francis Delabrau (21:50.47) finished 72nd, Barron Waupoose (23:01.23) was 98th and Darus Davis (25:05.44) took 122nd to fill out the team.

Emma Komanekin was Menominee Indian's lone girl runner, finishing 30th in 23:40.9.

Kelsey Zillmer led the Marion girls with a 97th-place finish in 30:04.99. Bridget Much (30:05.29) was 98th, while Nora Wiesman (32:39.35) took 109th.

Jaden Stuhr led a trio of Marion boys runners with a time of 21:08.45 to place 59th. Jesse Trebus (24:29.04) and Jackson Krohn (24:30.24) were the other two runners, finishing 115th and 116th, respectively.

Gresham/Bowler's Bryson Nelson took 111th in 24:15.13, while Isaiah Bestul was 133rd in 30:05.6.
