Kurt Donald Galland

Kurt Galland, 67, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020. Kurt was born on July 6, 1952, to the late Harold “Bud” and Sharleen “Tootie” (Moede) Galland. He lived in Shawano his entire life. Kurt graduated from Shawano High School in 1970.

Kurt worked as a carpenter his whole life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kurt took many trips to Montana and Wyoming to hunt and fish. He enjoyed playing pool, listening to country music and singing to all. His family meant the world to him and he loved to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

Kurt is survived by his significant other of 37 years, Linda Williams; his four children, Cassie (Dean) Cummings, Callie Galland (special friend Dale Gierke), Jessica (Antone) Hudson, and Cole (Jodi) Galland, all of Shawano; his nine grandchildren, Sadie, Sierra, Carson, Annikka, Evin, Jadaveon, Jaxton, Jakara and Tobias; and his brother, Bruce (Darla) Galland, of Embarrass. He is further survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, and mother, Sharleen.

A funeral service for Kurt will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Burial will be in Stony Hill. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
