Kietlinski powers Gresham/Bowler at conference meet

The Gresham/Bowler and Marion track and field teams were in action at the Central Wisconsin Conference-Small Division Meet on May 12 in Plainfield, with Gresham/Bowler's Emmitt Kietlinski turning in the standout performance.

Kietlinski won three individual events on the day and helped the team place third. The Gresham/Bowler girls also took third at the conference meet. The boys scored 85 points, while the girls accumulated 71½ points.

The Marion girls posted 23 points to come in eighth, while the boys tied for seventh with 10 points.

Kietlinski won the high jump (6 feet), long jump (19-8½) and triple jump (44-0½).

Kellen Pingel earned a pair of second-place finishes for the co-op, doing so in the discus (104-1) and high jump (5-1).

Jackson Pingel earned second in the shot put (36-11), while Bryson Nelson took second in the 3,200-meter run (11 minutes, 28.29 seconds).

Jemy Reedy and Danica Peters earned second-place individual finishes for the girls co-op. Reedy was second in the 100 (14.44), while Peters claimed second in the 100 hurdles (22.12).

Reedy was also a part of the second-place finishing 4x100 relay team (1:00.61). Tia Terrio, Emily Jensen and Willow Demaskie rounded out the team. Terrio, Peters, Demaskie and Camille Gourley were on the second-place finishing 4x400 team (5:25.2).

Taking third individually for the girls was Jensen in the shot put (28-0), Demaskie in the long jump (13-3½) and Terrio in the triple jump (27-1½).

Nelson, Adin Pranke, Jackson Pingel and Kellen Pingel teamed up for third in the boys 4x400 relay (4:18.6).

Bridget Much led the Marion girls team with a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (22.22).

The Marion boys’ top finish was from Eli Malueg in the 800 (3:01.29).
