The Holly Jolly Trolley made its way up and down Main Street on Nov. 25 as part of Shawano’s Shop Small Saturday celebration. The trolley made several stops along the street, operating from mid-morning to the evening. Festivities then moved to Franklin Park.
About 100 trees are decorated for the holiday season at Franklin Park and the Naberhood Plaza. Businesses and nonprofit organizations sponsor and decorate the trees.

Shawano’s official Christmas tree was lit Nov. 25 at Franklin Park. The tree lighting culminated the city’s Shop Small Saturday, Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting events, all held downtown. Hundreds of people, young and old, viewed the lighted display at the park and participated in the other activities held to kick off the Christmas season.
Suzette Hackl of Thornberry Cottage and The Gourmet Cafe was out front Nov. 25, selling coffee, hot chocolate and sandwiches to shoppers as they strolled by and participated in downtown Shawano’s kickoff to the holiday season.
Among the many decorated trees from the Naberhood Plaza to Franklin Park is one by the city of Shawano.

More than 100 businesses and nonprofit organizations sponsored and decorated trees at Franklin Park this year. When the event began six years ago, there were only about three dozen sponsors and trees.
