Karen L. Reeck, 78, of Pella, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sept. 17, 2020.

Karen Lee Reeck was born on Sept. 1, 1942, in West Allis to the late Carol and Florence (Mullinix) Eckley. She was married to Carlyle “Sonny” Reeck on Feb. 16, 1993. She worked many jobs. but one of her favorites was taking care of over 250 foster children in Dodge and Shawano counties. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, word puzzles, music, baking, cooking and giving horse drawn wagon rides with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kaye (Wendy Mathison) Kangas, Kent (Megan) Van Buren, Rebecca Van Buren and Matthew (Jess) Van Buren; grandchildren, Jordan and Hailee Saunders; great-grandchildren, Michael and Daniel; nephews, Steve (Shannon) Eckley, Mark Eckley and Colin (Kari) Eckley; and her cat Dutchess.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny; brother, Robert Eckley; sister-in-law, Rosemary Eckley; and brother-in-law, Jerry Reeck.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville with the Rev. Karen Reimer officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.

The family welcomes donations to Shawano County Humane Society as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
