Ida M. Marroquin

Ida Mae Marroquin, 82, of Shawano, passed away late Saturday night, June 27, 2020, at her home.

Ida was born on Aug. 25, 1937, in Keshena to the late Alvin and Ida (LaRock) Krueger. She attended St. Joseph’s Indian School in Keshena through the eighth grade. When she was old enough, Ida married Peter Marroquin Sr. in Chicago. Over the years, Ida and Peter moved around a bit. They spent time in Milwaukee, Chicago, Clarksville, Indiana, and later moved to Sheboygan.

For many years, Ida was a factory worker until the couple moved to Sheboygan, and she began working as a housekeeper at a nursing home. Ida was a hard worker, and could do just about anything asked of her. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, gambling, and playing Bingo.

Left to cherish Ida’s memory are her children, Theresa Brandenberg, of Shawano, Peter (Maria) Marroquin Jr., of Sheboygan, and Patti (Jeff Dykes) Marroquin, of Wisconsin Rapids; her grandchildren, Haley Marroquin, Joseph James Drep and Angela Marie Marroquin; her brother, Alvin “Chubby” Krueger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; siblings, Helen, Noppy, Edna, Jack and Jane; and her son-in-law, Wayne Brandenberg.

A private family graveside service will be held. Inurnment will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Keshena.
