Shawano 3

New London 0

Shawano earned a road win over New London to open up Bay Conference play on Thursday. The Hawks won by scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-18.

Katelyn Wilber had 14 assists and four aces for Shawano, while Rachel Reed finished with seven attack kills, seven digs and three aces. Margo Gull tallied 20 digs.

Baylie Hansen finished with six total kills, while Avery Dreier had five. Abi Vomastic contributed seven total kills and five digs.

Tigerton goes 1-1 at triangular

Tigerton finished with a 1-1 record at a home triangular on Thursday. The Tigers topped Menominee Indian 25-22, 25-19 before falling to Rosholt by scores of 25-16, 25-21.

Tigerton’s Savannah Swartz totaled five total kills against Menominee Indian, while Abby Swartz had 10 service points. Elizabeth Robbins had five assists, Ladia Block posted six digs and Adrienne Brady added four assists.

Against Rosholt, Brady tallied eight assists, while Savannah Swartz had four attack kills, seven digs and nine service points. Skyler Hauser finished with eight service points and three blocks, while Abby Swartz contributed five digs.

Witt-Birn drops two matches

Wittenberg-Birnamwood was unable to earn a win while playing in a pair of matches in Marathon on Thursday. The Chargers dropped a 25-21, 25-20 match to Northland Pines before a 25-16, 25-11 setback to Phillips.

Marissa Groshek recorded nine attack kills for Witt-Birn in the loss to Northland Pines. McKenna Metropulos had 16 assists and Elizabeth Muscha tallied 10 digs.

Muscha posted six digs against Phillips, while Metropulos had four assists. Madison Schwalbach led the Chargers with four attack kills.

Waupaca 3

Clintonville 0

Clintonville dropped a tight North Eastern Conference clash to Waupaca on Thursday in Clintonville. Waupaca won by scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-23.

Josie Colla led Clintonville with 13 total kills, while Lindsy Carpenter had 19 assists and three digs.

Jordan Lehman tallied nine total kills for the Truckers, while Autumn Steede had five attack kills and three digs.

Seymour 117

Shawano/Bonduel 53

Gabi Bukoski earned a pair of first-place finishes for the Shawano/Bonduel co-op in its home dual loss to Seymour on Thursday.

Bukoski won the 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes, 20.07 seconds) and 500 freestyle (6:15.03).

Bukoski was also on the second-place finishing 200 medley relay (2:09.38) and 400 freestyle relay (4:23.88). Allison Langlois, Isabel Colon and Macy Monfils filled out the two relay teams.

Taking second as individuals was Langlois in the 100 backstroke (1:11.44) and 100 freestyle (1:02.44) and Colon in the 100 butterfly (1:14.05).

GIRLS GOLF

Shawano takes fourth at invitational

Shawano finished with a team score of 428 to finish fourth at the Marinette Marines Invitational at Riverside Golf Course in Menominee, Michigan on Thursday.

Kiley Rusch led the Hawks with an 18-hole round of 102. Taylor Johnson and Emily Heling weren't far behind, carding a 104 and 107, respectively.

Macie Herm shot a 115, while Georgia Eggert had a 116 to fill out the five-golfer team.
