BOYS GOLF

Bonduel 1st at CWC meet

Bonduel turned in a team score of 357 to take first in a Central Wisconsin Conference meet on May 2 at Greenwood Hills in Wausau.

Cooper Uelmen led Bonduel with an 18-hole round of 86. Reed Luepke and Jake Dreyer each fired rounds of 89, while Reece Stoltenow's 93 and Sam Wolf's 105 rounded out the team.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood placed second with a mark of 362. Calvin Scheurer led the way with a round of 79 to finish as the meet medalist. Nolan Fraaza fired an 86, Joey Seegmiller a 98 and Dylan Resch a 99 to cap the team score, while Owen Schultz (122) was the team's fifth golfer.

Marion came in sixth with a team score of 434. Isaiah Gueths (95), Quinn Tolan (108), Sam Gueths (112), Kasey Roethle (119) and Owen Speigel (133) formed the team. Menominee Indian/Gresham took ninth with a mark of 450. Saswaen Shawanokasic (102), Corbin Welch (103), Fynn Bennett (107), Ayanna Smith (138) and Jack Haffner (141) filled out the team's lineup.

BASEBALL

Shawano splits with Seymour

Shawano lost 4-3 against Seymour in game one of a Bay Conference doubleheader, but bounced back with a 9-0 win in game two on May 2 in Seymour.

Jacob Landon drove in a pair of runs in game one for Shawano, which led 3-0 after an inning. Zac Jurmu tallied three hits. Ashton Henning was dealt the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) over two innings, while Andrew Popp got a no decision after surrendering a run over four innings.

In game two, Jacob Polzin earned the win on the mound. He struck out five batters and allowed just two hits and a walk over seven impressive innings. He needed just 72 pitches to get through the game.

Bryce Popp led the Hawks' offense with two hits and three RBIs, while Carson Popp, Deacon Carroll and Joey Sperberg all had two hits. Henning and Landon scored two runs each.

Manitowoc Lincoln 12

Pulaski 1 (5 inn.)

Pulaski couldn't keep up with Manitowoc Lincoln in a Fox River Classic Conference contest on May 2 in Manitowoc.

Kyle Olson drove in Hayden Grunert for Pulaski's lone run. The Red Raiders were limited to four hits.

Braeden Eron was dealt the loss on the mound, while Michael Molthen also pitched. Only six of the 12 runs the duo allowed were earned.

Witt-Birn 5

Bonduel 0

Witt-Birn got a strong start from Mason Meverden and blanked Bonduel in a CWC-East contest on May 2 in Bonduel.

Meverden got the win after working 6⅔ innings and striking out six batters. Ben Wesolowski got the final out in the seventh.

Max Fraaza scored twice and drove in a run for the Chargers. Pierson Potrykus and Kaden Schmidt also drove in a run each.

Mason Bohm took the loss for Bonduel after working 2⅓ innings. Noah Weier and Charlie Tauchen each posted two hits for Bonduel, which outhit Witt-Birn 9-4.

SOFTBALL

Menominee Indian drops two to Iola-Scandinavia

Menominee Indian suffered 19-0 and 15-0 CWC-East losses to Iola-Scandinavia on May 2 in Iola.

In the 19-0 loss, Menominee Indian finished with no hits or walks. Ashlee Corn was dealt the loss in the circle.

Corn and Sam Wilber posted hits for the Eagles in the 15-0 loss. Lyneesa Mendez also drew a walk. Aniya Peters was tagged with the loss.

TRACK AND FIELD

Robbins leads Tigers at meet

Elizabeth Robbins led a trio of Tigerton athletes during a meet May 2 in Plainfield.

Robbins took second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.09 seconds, third in the long jump with a leap of 13 feet, 7 inches and was fourth in the 200 in 29.61 seconds.

Mary Kreklow finished third in the 1,600 (6:52.15). Jade Selle's best finish was third in the triple jump (27-3).
