BASEBALL

Bonduel sweeps Pacelli

Bonduel earned 4-3 and 5-2 wins over Pacelli in a doubleheader on May 13 in Bonduel.

In the first game, Cade Johnson earned the win on the mound for the Bears, striking out four batters over 3⅓ innings. Colin Margelofsky got the final out to pick up the save. Noah Weier clubbed a two-run home to spark a four-run fifth innings for the hosts.

Beckett Hartlaben picked up the win on the mound in game two after pitching five innings. Karson Stoss went two innings to earn the save. The Bears scored three runs in the second inning and two more in the fourth to rally from an early 2-0 hole.

Shawano swept by Menasha

Shawano lost 8-4 and 11-9 in nine innings in games against Menasha on May 13 in Shawano.

In the 8-4 setback, Michael Metcalf-Grassman and Ashton Henning each homered and drove in two runs for Shawano. Henning scored twice, while Crew Weisnicht chipped in two hits.

Henning took the loss after working 5⅓ innings. Tom Keszo got the other five outs. Pete Bruette was dealt the loss in game two after working 1⅓ innings. Bryce Popp, Keszo and Jerzy Brocker also pitched in the contest.

Carsen Herm homered among his three hits, drove in two runs and scored three times for Shawano in game two. Popp and Jacob Landon each added two hits, while Landon also scored twice.

SOFTBALL

Pulaski splits with De Pere

Pulaski lost 2-0 and won 2-1 in 10 innings during a Fox River Classic Conference doubleheader against De Pere on May 13 in Pulaski.

In the 2-0 loss, Pulaski outhit De Pere 5-4. De Pere scored twice in the seventh to prevail. Morgan Vertz took the tough loss in the circle, striking out five batters over seven innings.

Vertz got the win in game two, striking out 21 batters across 10 innings. She threw 149 pitches to get through the contest.

Cassie Benberg homered and had three hits to lead Pulaski at the plate in game two. Paige Abendroth scored the game-winning run.

Witt-Birn splits pair of games

Wittenberg-Birnamwood lost 15-0 to Almond-Bancroft and won 7-5 against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah during a triangular on May 13 in Almond.

Witt-Birn was held without a hit in the loss. Brieleigh Ladika took the loss in the circle, while Kiara Deruchowski also pitched in the contest.

Sophia Lemieux drove in four runs on two hits to power the Chargers in their win. Madisyn Sippl drove in a pair, while Gwen Groshek and Rory Salvesen had two hits each. Deruchowski and Lillian Lemieux each scored two runs.

Ella Eichmann earned the win in the circle, striking out five batters over seven innings.
