BOYS BASKETBALL

Menominee Indian 56

Witt-Birn 54

Menominee Indian held off Wittenberg-Birnamwood in a Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division battle on Jan. 31 in Wittenberg. Menominee Indian led 39-16 at halftime.

Isaiah Moss scored 27 points to lead Menominee Indian. Dante Waupoose added 12 points.

Michael Miller hit three 3-pointers and led Witt-Birn with 14 points. Marshall Fraaza had 10 points, while Jett Rogowski had nine and Ian Salvesen eight.

Shawano 63

Antigo 40

Shawano knocked off Antigo in a nonconference matchup on Jan. 31 in Antigo.

Michael Metcalf-Grassman scored 21 points to pace Shawano offensively.

Brandon Reed tallied 11 points for the Hawks, while Logan Sipple added eight points.

Tigerton 66

Gresham 21

Tigerton eased past Gresham in a CWC-North matchup on Jan. 31 in Tigerton. The Tigers led 41-13 by halftime.

Colby Wanta finished with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals for Tigerton. Joey Zimdars tallied 13 points, while Ryder Graham had 12 points, six boards and three assists.

Loghan Wanta and Asher Michaelis tallied nine points each for the Tigers. Wanta also had six rebounds, while Michaelis had 12 boards, five assists and three steals. Sam Anheuser had three steals.

Sheboygan North 80

Pulaski 73 (OT)

Pulaski fell in overtime to Sheboygan North in a Fox River Classic Conference game on Jan. 31 in Pulaski.

Brady Wotruba knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 27 points for Pulaski. Derek Shaw made 11 free throws and had 20 points.

Gatlin Robaidek finished with nine points for the Red Raiders. Dylan Dorn contributed seven points, while Colin Schultz had six.

Wey-Fre 51

Bonduel 45

Bonduel dropped a CWC-East contest to Weyauwega-Fremont on Jan. 31 in Weyauwega.

Noah Weier and Ryan Westrich each scored 15 points for Bonduel. Charlie Tauchen added six points.

Bonduel struggled with its free throws, making just six of 13 attempts.

WRESTLING

Shawano 52

Seymour 21

Shawano moved closer to a Bay Conference title after taking down Seymour on Jan. 31 in Seymour.

Alex Montour (126), Caden Young (170), Mason Theis (182), Conner Chelberg (195) and Brady Jones (285) all won by pin for Shawano.

Carsen Herm earned an 8-0 major decision win at 152 pounds for Shawano. Dane Hodkiewicz (106), Caitlyn Moede (132) and Kody Popelka (138) all picked up forfeit wins.

Antigo upset Tomahawk in the first round of the Great Northern Conference Tournament on Jan. 31 in Tomahawk.

Witt-Birn's Owen Dickman had a big game for Antigo, scoring two goals and assisting on two others.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lena 49

Florence 38

Lena continued its strong winter season with a nonconference win over Florence on Jan. 31 in Lena.

Eva Brooks and Whitney Potter tallied 16 points each to power Lena offensively.

Claire Brooks added 10 points for the Wildcats, while Kali Fischer had six.

Bowler 64

Tigerton 44

Bowler topped Tigerton in a CWC-North matchup on Jan. 31 in Bowler.

Isabella Stevens scored 21 points for Bowler. Natalie Rickert added 16 points, while Paige Treptow had 10.

Abby Swartz had 13 points and six rebounds for Tigerton. Angel Welch added 12 points and grabbed six boards.

Iola-Scandinavia 69

Menominee Indian 68

Menominee Indian dropped a tight CWC-East showdown with Iola-Scandinavia on Jan. 31 in Iola.

Emma Komanekin hit seven 3-pointers and had 24 points for Menominee Indian. Ayanna Smith added 16 points, while Mariah Fish had 10 and Kaysha Wilber seven.

Fish also tallied 10 rebounds and seven assists. Wilber had eight boards and three assists, while Ashlee Corn and Smith had three assists each.

Shawano pulled away late to earn a nonconference win over Pacelli on Jan. 31 in Shawano.

Leah Nordin scored 20 points to pace Shawano offensively.

Abby Bystol tallied eight points, including two clutch 3-pointers late, for the Hawks. Braylyn Babino also had eight points, while Ella Stuber and Trinity Popelka had six points each.
