GIRLS BASKETBALL

Menominee Indian 74

Manawa 38

Menominee Indian rolled to a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover win over Manawa on Tuesday in Keshena.

Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan scored 29 points to power Menominee Indian on the offensive end. Senihseah Wayka added 16 points, while Kaysha Wilber chipped in 10 points.

"We had a sloppy shooting first half with probably a dozen or more missed layups," said Menominee Indian coach Michael Skenadore. "In the second half, we made a lot more of those layups and were able to pull away pretty comfortably. I would like to think we were able to keep some of our momentum from the Amherst game (on Feb. 6).

Clintonville 73

Marinette 50

Clintonville knocked off Marinette in a North Eastern Conference clash on Tuesday in Clintonville.

Erin Viergutz tallied 36 points to lead Clintonville, with 28 of those points coming in the final half. Selina Torrez scored all 11 of her points in the first half, while Elly Arndt and Jordan Lehman provided 10 and nine points, respectively.

Viergutz also pulled down 16 rebounds, while Lehman had nine boards.

"Another slow start, but a great second half for us," said Clintonville coach Nick Yaeger. "We were missing a lot of close shots in the first half and Marinette made seven 3s in the first half. Despite that, we were still only down by two at the half. We played better defense in the second half."
