Green Bay East 3

Shawano picked up a Bay Conference win over Green Bay East on April 25 in Shawano.

Josh Bergmann (No. 2) earned Shawano's lone singles win. Tristan Sheldon and George Buerman (No. 1), Tristan Tetting and Isaac Welander (No. 2) and Seth Williams and Andrew Vandenheuvel (No. 3) picked up doubles wins for the Hawks.

BASEBALL

Bonduel 4

Iola-Scandinavia 0

Bonduel claimed a tight Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division win over Iola-Scandinavia on April 25 in Bonduel. The Bears scored twice in the first and third innings to pull ahead.

Noah Weier and Mason Bohm teamed up to shut down Iola-Scandinavia's bats. Weier got the win after striking out six batters and allowing just two walks and one hit over five innings. Bohm worked the final two innings, working around two hit batters and two hits to seal up the win.

Colin Margelofsky, Bennett Engel and Brodie Hartmann had Bonduel's three hits.

Witt-Birn 13

Wey-Fre 3 (6 inn.)

Wittenberg-Birnamwood rolled to a CWC-East win over Weyauwega-Fremont on April 25 in Wittenberg. The Chargers scored 10 runs between the fifth and sixth innings to earn the win.

Mason Meverden drove in two runs on four hits to power Witt-Birn's offense. Max Fraaza and Kaden Schmidt drove in two runs each.

Chase Krull scored three runs for the Chargers, while Pierson Potrykus, Ben Wesolowski and Fraaza scored twice each.

Meverden earned the win on the hill after striking out eight batters over four innings. Wesolowski and Nathan Waupekenay each pitched an inning.

Marion 10

NL/WVL 1

Jaden Stuhr had a big game to lead Marion to a CWC-North win over Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on April 25 in Kronenwetter.

Stuhr struck out 16 batters over six innings to earn the win on the mound. He allowed two hits, three walks and an unearned run. At the plate, Stuhr tripled and drove in four runs.

Nick Malueg finished with four hits for the Mustangs, and also pitched an inning. Alex Zimmerman and Jay Brei tallied three hits each.

Lena 12

STAA (5 inn.)

Lena cruised to a Marinette & Oconto Conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas Academy, the team it used to co-op with, on April 25 in Marinette.

Lena had just five hits in the contest, but walked eight times and took advantage of five STAA errors. The Wildcats led 6-0 after two innings and then scored six times in the fifth.

Tyler Shallow and Luke Misco scored three runs each for Lena, while Logan Shallow and Logan Graef scored twice each. Logan Shallow and Josh Kristof had two hits each.

Lane Whiting earned the win on the hill, striking out 14 batters and allowing just one hit.

SOFTBALL

Marion 16

NL/WVL 0 (3 inn.)

Marion rolled to a CWC-North win over Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on April 25 in Kronenwetter.

Hailey Krueger led Marion with three hits, including a double. Ashley Fischer had two hits, including a triple.

Morgan Schwartz picked up the win in the circle.

Crandon 14

Tigerton 2 (5 inn.)

Tigerton couldn't slow Crandon in a nonconference matchup on April 25 in Tigerton.

Abby Swartz drove in Skyler Hauser twice to account for the Tigerton runs. Swartz finished with three hits, while Hauser had two.

Hauser took the loss in the circle after pitching all five innings.

BOYS GOLF

Bonduel takes 2nd at Whistling Straits

Bonduel turned in a team score of 370 to place second at a meet April 25 at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan.

Jake Dreyer led the Bears with an 18-hole round of 82, while Reed Luepke fired an 83. Cooper Uelmen (87), Louis Hrabik and Sam Wolf (118 each) filled out the team.

Witt-Birn placed third with a score of 373. Nolan Fraaza (86) and Calvin Scheurer (87) guided the team, with Joey Seegmiller (99), August Barke (101) and Owen Schultz (116) filling it out.

Marion placed seventh with a team mark of 441. Isaiah Gueths (98), Quinn Tolan and Sam Gueths (114 each), Kasey Roethle (115) and Owen Speigel (123) formed the team. Menominee Indian/Gresham placed 11th with a mark of 476, with Corbin Welch (95), Dugan Webster (119), Reese Nietzer (130), Jack Haffner (132) and Saswaen Shawanokasic (144) making up the team.
