Editor’s Note: NEW Media recently chatted with Bryson Bernarde, CEO of United Social Media Marketing. He runs his business out of Wausau and lives in the Wittenberg/Elderon area.

Q: How did you get started in your business?

A: From a young age, I have always picked up technology quickly. Among all of what I learned, social media was a large part of it. After trial and error, I was able to take my knowledge and experience to piece together the digital marketing agency I own today.

Q: What kind of business is this, and why is there a need for it?
 

A: United is a social media/digital marketing agency. In today’s day and age, no longer are traditional methods of advertising cost effective. Businesses need an online approach to reach their customers, otherwise they will find themselves like so many others, out of business.
 

Q: How many employees work for you?
 

A: We currently employ five employees and independent contractors and are growing quickly.
 

Q: What is your background, and what kind of training did you need?
 

A: My background is in my four years of experience with just about any type of online marketing you could imagine. I have taken full digital marketing courses and am certified by Tai Lopez of having superior knowledge in the field of social media marketing.
 

Q: How do you deliver your services?
 

A: We offer full social media management services where we build the full strategy for having a strong online presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. We also handle advertising on Facebook and Google for clients, plus other work such as website design and development plus search engine optimization.
 

Q: Are your clients long term, or do you put a plan in action and are finished? Or is it a combination of both?
 

A: Our goal is to always work with clientele long term. Whether it is a recurring project or a one-time job, we will stay in touch.
 

Q: How do you track your success rate? On your website, you list 1,635% increase in engagement for one client — how do you track those numbers?
 

A: Because it is digital marketing, all analytics can be tracked, unlike traditional forms of advertising. Another large advantage is that we only target the necessary demographic, so we aren’t wasting our client’s hard-earned ad spend.
 

Q: How long have you been in business?
 

A: Over four years, since August 2015.
 

Q: What’s your vision for the future?
 

A: The vision is to continue to grow and help thousands of other businesses get up-to-date with the digital age, bringing them a higher ROI (return on investment) than they even thought possible.
 

Q: How do you keep on top of technology and marketing trends?
 

A: Being surrounded by it every single day, I am continually learning and have an eye for where the future is headed.
 

Q: Do you get paid per job, or is there an ongoing monthly fee for services?
 

A: Both. For one-time projects, like websites, it is paid per job. For monthly marketing options, we do recurring work with clients.
 

Q: What kinds of services do you offer? (Repetition)
 

A: Social media management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube), Facebook and Google advertising, SEO and website design/development.
 

Q: Which types of businesses need your services the most?
 

A: Any B2C (business-to-consumer) company that is looking to take on more customers 100% needs our help. Even for companies that are satisfied with their current number of customers, we have strategies to help them optimize their online presence and status in the community without focusing on direct advertising. We also help with website design to develop sleek and modern webpages instead of a slow, outdated look that many businesses have today. For B2B, we can definitely still provide value in the areas of website creation, SEO and social media profile management.
