Emily Bruss won the girls triple jump to lead the Pulaski High School track and field team at the Fox River Classic Conference Meet on May 14 in Manitowoc.

Bruss had a top leap of 34 feet, 8½ inches to win the triple jump.

“Winning the conference title means so much to me,” said Bruss. “I could not have done it without my amazing coaches. They push me every day to gain confidence in my skills and have helped me improve by leaps and bounds.

“Especially since this is my first year doing triple jump, I am so proud of what I have accomplished so far, and I can’t wait for what is to come for the rest of my season.”

Bruss also claimed third place in the long jump with a leap of 16-1½.

The Pulaski girls placed sixth as a team with 52½ points, while the boys came in eighth with 28½ points.

The Pulaski girls’ 4x200-meter relay team placed third in a time of 1 minute, 51.29 seconds. Rachael Allen, Hallie Morz, Grace Goodness and Anna Friedman formed the team.

Jack Marsh led the Pulaski boys team with a second-place finish in the discus. His top throw was 136-3.

“I put in a lot of work this season and in the preseason with some coaching and weight training, working to placing high in some of the bigger track meets,” said Marsh. “I’m happy with my performance but want to continue to work hard and throw farther.”

T.J. Shaw took third in the boys 3,200 with a time of 10:04.47.

Eian Ziemer, Mason Wells, Rylan Rodal and Brock Steinbrecher teamed up for third in the boys’ 4x200 relay with a time of 1:32.38.
