Local 4-H educator Megan Suehring worked with 4-H colleagues recently to provide “Level Up in Life: 4-H Teen Leadership Winter Camp” at Spencer Lake Camp in Waupaca.

Partnering with six additional eastern Wisconsin counties, Suehring and others presented a winter leadership camp experience for 4-H members to learn, grow and lead.

During the time together, 50 youths met new friends and deepened already existing relationships in the setting of the Christian camp.

Youths spent time in large group sessions learning skills like interpersonal communication, finances and budgeting, as well as expressing gratitude through written communication. Members also chose which hands-on educational ventures they wanted to dive into, with topics ranging from simple sewing and bike safety to cooking and building a first aid kit.

During down time, youths spent time outside playing DiscGolf and basketball and inside playing games and cards.
