3 baseball teams knocked out as regional action begins

May 29 Bonduel 11, Menominee Nation 1 Bonduel, seeded No. 5, defeated No. 12 seed Menominee Nation 11-1 in the opening round of WIAA baseball regional action. The Eagles end the season at 3-17 overall. They were 1-13 in the CWC East, in which Bonduel placed third at 10-4. Coleman 11, Gillett/Suring 4 Coleman, the Marinette & Oconto Conference champion, defeated conference foe Gillett/Suring 11-4 in regional action. Gillett/Suring was 2-10 in the conference and ended the season at 4-15. Assumption 10, Marion 1 Marion’s season ended with a 10-1 loss to Assumption in regional action. The Mustangs, 5-14 overall, finished 5-5 in the CWC North, trailing Tigerton at 10-1, and Bowler and Gresham at 6-4 each. Manitowoc Lincoln 6, Pulaski 2 Pulaski’s regular season came to an end with a 6-2 loss to Manitowoc Lincoln, which knocked the Red Raiders down a notch in the Fox River Classic Conference. Bay Port and Manitowoc Lincoln tied for third at 11-6, while Pulaski was next at 11-7. Wittenberg-Birnamwood 5, Edgar 0 The Chargers closed the regular season with a 5-0 shutout win over Edgar in nonconference action. The Chargers improved to 24-2 overall.
